This Week in Cougar Territory
Esteemed Parents/Guardians/Parents/Teachers/Students,
Welcome to Quarter 4: Week 10. Last Friday we hosted a beautiful ceremony for the class of 2024. The group had character, leadership, talent, and some very driven individuals. It is exciting to think about the great things they will go on to accomplish. It is always bittersweet to bid them a fond farewell. They certainly have set a great example for the class of 2025. We also wish Mr. DeJardin and Ms. Morris all the best as their career paths take them on new adventures. They have made indelible marks on Cougar Country. Â
It is important to note that Wednesday will be an 11:05 dismissal for students. On that day they will have their final final. We will also have a second-semester award ceremony.  (The award ceremony will begin at approximately 10:00).  Chromebooks will be collected on Tuesday during Period 7. Hopefully, this has been a positive experience in our first year of fully implementing the 1:1 program issuing technology to students. The plan is to reissue the same Chromebook to students in the fall. If the Chromebook needs repairs, it is important for the students to report any issues. They will be given a sheet to complete on Tuesday. If they fail to report problems, they will get the Chromebook back in the same condition. Â
Tennis and volleyball have scheduled voluntary practices. Apart from those activities, students will be expected to depart the campus with the buses following dismissal.  With the activities closed out, we cannot provide supervision on campus.   Â
We just completed our first year in a new 21st Century building. This year has started in a new place, with new administrators, a novel technology initiative, All-Star events new to Vicenza, and many other firsts. At the same time, we have tried to hang on to many successful traditions. This would be a perfect time to share feedback with Dr. Brodie and me as we begin furiously planning for SY2025. I implore all students, teachers, parents/guardians, and stakeholders to share feedback on how we can improve our next school year for everyone involved. I am extremely grateful to be in Vicenza as a part of this incredible team and community. Â
Thank you all for an unforgettable school year. I cannot wait to start on Day 1 with everyone in August!
