This Week in Cougar Territory - 2/11/2024
Esteemed Parents/Guardians/Teachers/Students,
Welcome to Quarter 3: Week 5. This week marks the midpoint of the third quarter. It would be an opportune time to log into our online grade program (ASPEN). If you are having difficulty logging in, our Educational Technologist, Mr. Morris, is available to assist (michael.morris@dodea.edu). This month the upcoming accreditation visit from Cognia with be a major focal point for our faculty. The visit will include randomized student interviews and visits to every classroom. The accreditation team will host a meeting open to all parents in the complex on February 28th at the high school. Please see the attachment for details.
Our CTE students will be taking their NOCTI examinations this week in the STEAM Hub. If you are interested in supporting our Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team members they will be hosting a bake sale outside the commissary on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024.
As our wrestlers return from Europeans, we will send off our largest group (by number) of athletes to Germany to compete this week. Girls' and Boys' basketball and cheer all have their final competitions of the season this week. Next week is the official “dead week” between seasons. Congratulations to Maya F and Ben H who were selected to the basketball All-Star teams. The Girls All-Star game will be hosted here in Vicenza on February 24th. The boys game will be in Vilseck, Germany.
Sadly, we bid a fond farewell to our assistant principal Ms. Tibbs who has meant so much to so many of our students over the years. She will be departing before the end of the week. Thanks to our teachers, students, DSO leadership, and the Garrison Commander for their support in our assembly on her behalf last Friday. We look forward to having Dr. Brodie join our faculty as the assistant principal very soon.
